We are actively exploring potential funding that will allow us to develop one or more of the day’s application ideas further after the event.
We hope that the best applications will reuse the data in ways that we haven’t previously imagined. However, it is important that your application ideas try to be one (or more) of the following-
Educational. Presenting the data in a way that allows new audiences to engage and learn more about our collections- either in or outside of our museums and galleries.
Promotional. Data is used to encourage visits to our regional museums and galleries.
Shareable. Think of ways in which audiences would want to share our collections online.
Collaborative. The data is presented as part of a resource that demands and reuses audience input.
Usable. Data is mashed with other APIs to create applications that have a practical use.
Above all, the application should have the power to engage new or existing audiences. The application could be a resource designed for use inside or away from our museums and galleries. It could be web-based or intended for use on mobile platforms.
There is no predetermined audience for this application. Feel free to target as specific or as broad an audience group as you like.
Intellectual Property Rights and Income Generation Possibilities will be negotiated on an individual basis with the partners concerned.
